Type of Event
Day 1: Off to Fayoum to Walk ’n’ Yoga (L,D)
We’ll meet at 6:30 am at the WG HQ in Mohandeseen and head to Fayoum (160 km bus ride). Reaching Fayoum at Wadi EL Rayan Protectorate, we will get our backpacks ready to start the hike. We hike a total of 12 km, we will stop in the middle to have lunch in one of the most beautiful rock formations in a region called Osour el Arab then continue to our camp site. The first day’s hike consists mostly of a flat solid surface with a very low chance of soft sands. Upon reaching the campsite, we will start setting up our tents, then we will We’ll have our first yoga session by the gorgeous views. After the yoga session, we will start cooking our dinner together. After dinner we are going to have a discussion by the campfire, by 8 pm we will end our day with a stress-releasing meditation session.
Day 2: Sunrise, Serenity & Self-Discovery (B, L, D)
Early bird gets the worm! Well, gets a yoga session by the sunrise in this case! We have our breakfast, pack the campsite, and start hiking. Our first walk is about 7 km long on the top of the dunes of this area, then we will reach the top of the plateau that overlooks a big part of the protectorate. We have lunch at this location then we carry on with the hike. Back on track, we will hike on the top of the plateau for until we reach its end at Qasr Rahala, our camp site for today. We’ll watch the sunset and enjoy a yoga session, we will set up the tents, build the fire; and food will be ready by 7 pm. Distance of the hike day 2 is 16 km
Day 3: Off to the Village & Homebound (B, L)
We wake up to catch the sunrise, then enjoy our last yoga session, have our breakfast then start hiking for 6 km until we reach the bus and head to Tunis Village. There we will have the chance to go on a short felouka ride. Lunch will be served on deck then we’ll make our way back to Cairo.
