Yin Yoga is both a physical practice and a mental approach/attitude. It can be applied in daily life, to dynamic types of yoga and to sport.
In the body we have both Yang and Yin tissues. Yang tissues are our muscles, blood and skin which we stimulate in dynamic types of yoga, daily activity and sport. Yin tissues are the ligaments, bones and joints which are drier and less elastic. They need to be approached in a different way.
I have designed a class that works all the major joints in the body. Each posture will be held for several minutes while you relax, breath deeply and let go of any tension. It is slow, quiet, deep work that improves body posture and promotes healthy joints. You will leave the session feeling mentally and physically relaxed.
