Join Jeff (who trains yoga teachers and teaches at London’s leading yoga centres – Triyoga and the Life Centre) for a full schedule and spectrum of yoga practices at Commonwork Farm set in an area of outstanding natural beauty near Sevenoaks in Kent. (only 45 mins from London) You will stay in Bore Place House, an old Tudor manor house with Jacobean and Victorian extensions and which is surrounded by an ancient walled garden with a beautiful lily pond, and the working organic dairy farm, pottery and brickworks that make up Commonwork Farm. This special and unspoilt environment is an ideal setting for spiritual practice and will give you the chance to immerse yourself in yoga, recharge and relax and enjoy the peaceful and natural surroundings. There is wonderful walking amongst the thousands of acres of surrounding countryside.
Arrival is on Friday afternoon from 4pm and our schedule together starts with a short evening yoga class at 6pm before dinner and an evening meditation afterwards. Saturday morning will begin with pranayama and meditation at 7.30am before breakfast and a longer more vigorous ‘yang’ style morning session (options given so that a range of levels of ability can work at the level appropriate to themselves, even when we work towards more challenging postures like arm balances and inversions) from 10.30am until lunch at 1pm. You will then be free for a few hours to relax or explore the surrounding area before we have a mellower more ‘yin’ style class at 5pm. After dinner there will be a short meditation. Yoga classes take place in the listed 16th Century converted barn, an atmospheric space, being part of a group of historic barns within a courtyard, which have been renovated and converted to provide a comfortable and peaceful environment. Sunday morning will be the same format until we are free to leave after lunch re-charged and revitalised or stay a bit longer and enjoy the countryside. All meals are vegetarian. Any special dietary requirements must give at least 7 days notice.
Accommodation for the weekend is at Bore Place House and also in the converted Old Stables. All rooms are comfortable and well furnished, and are mostly twin-share although some single rooms are available for a supplement. Limited dorm space also available. Bathroom facilities are shared. £375pp based twin shared, £325pp dorm, single supplement £40per night
