Weight management and detox yoga retreat in Little Cumbrae Island - Scotland

In a little paradise of beautiful Scotland, Patanjali Yog Peeth Trust UK offers yoga lovers to spend 5 days in a blissful surrounding and learn how to manage an ideal weight and detox the body doing yoga. You will spend every morning doing Ashtanga yoga for about 2 hrs, in late mornings going on walk to enjoy the wonders of the nature, take part in discussion on Ayurvedic diet and acupressure in afternoons and the evenings offer power yoga, meditation and Kirtan.

Features

The Island of Little Cumbrae is teeming with wildlife and steeped in history. You can explore the islands 680 acres by taking cliff walks or going to visit the Viking Burial Grounds. There is also a 700 year old Castle, where the first Royal Charter was signed in 1375. At the highest point of the island are the considerable remains of a Lighthouse, built in 1757. Robert Stevenson built the upgraded Lighthouse complex situated on the western side of the island in 1793 and it was fully automated in 1997. There are over 75 species of birds which nest on Little Cumbrae, many of them rare and endangered species.

Yoga instructors:

Konstantinos Tournas is a qualified Ashtanga yoga teacher and has been teaching Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga since 2007. He also has attended Ashtanga yoga workshop delivered by Manjhu Jois.

In 2009 he completed a one year training course learning Hatha yoga, breathing and relaxation with Art of Living in Germany by world renowned guru Shri Shri Ravi Shankar himself. His training also included Ayurvedic healthy diet, healing and mantras. He is also a qualified Art of Living yoga teacher who is authorised to teach Sudarshan Kriya (a powerful breathing exercise unique to Art of Living yoga training). For the last 3 years he has been travelling worldwide to deliver Art of Living yoga classes. He regularly attends the annual silence week with Shri Shri Ravi Shankar in his Ashram in Black Forest in Germany.

In 2010 he learned Sukshma Yoga by Paramahansa Yogananda, a real Yogi 103 years old, (that time) who was living more than 20 years in the caves of the Himalayan Mountains and who taught him the secrets of long life.
In 2013 he completed Thai massage training and gained 1st degree in Reiki practice. In October 2015 he completed with 1st degree in Pranic healing therapy and Advance Pranic Healing and Pranic Psychotherapy in December 2015. He is also an active participant of self-realisation group which enables him going deeper into the knowledge of the Self and of human nature.

He lives in Archanes in Crete studying, teaching and mainly practising Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga. He travels extensively to deliver seminars and yoga retreats.

Mamta Kanabar has done 1172 hrs yoga teacher’s training from various institutions in India and UK. She also holds diploma in Pre and Post natal yoga and Nutrition Weight Consultancy. She has attended several yoga related workshops by world renowned yoga teachers.

She has been teaching yoga since 2008. She has developed a number of yoga workshops to improve the health and wellbeing. She has delivered yoga workshops in UK, China and Australia. She has also developed a course on how to manage weight and detox the body using different aspects of yoga and Ayurvedic diet. She was commissioned by PYP Trust to write training manuals for yoga teacher’s training and produced booklets for Diabetes and Cancer workshops. She has also delivered yoga teacher’s training level 1 for the PYPT.

She has done extensive work on Chakra system and has developed yoga workshops to enhance the energy of chakras to improve the health and wellbeing. In 2012 her book Awakening Chakra through Yoga was published.

Sam Poddar
Sam is a qualified Patanjali Yog Peeth Trust yoga teacher. He is the international yoga trainer for the trust and travels all over the world and delivers PYPT teacher’s trainings. He also delivers workshops on Weight management, cancer, diabetes and high blood pressure worldwide.

Accommodation

Your accommodation will be in the Little Cumbrae House. Rooms are in either shared three beds or a twin share room with twin bed.

Additional Information

The date of the retreat can be changed if it is not possible to travel to Little Cumbrae due to the bad weather.

Location

Little Cumbrae lies barely a kilometre to the south of its larger neighbour, Great Cumbrae, a few kilometres distant from the mainland town of Largs.

Booking conditions

Prices: £425 per person for 5 days and 4 nights.

Payment: A deposit of £100 is payable for the retreat booked. Once PYPT receives your deposit your booking is confirmed and a receipt will be sent to you by e-mail and, if requested, by post. Payment of the outstanding balance is due 2 weeks before arrival.

Cancellation: Cancellation between 12 and 28 days before it commences: the full deposit payment and 70% of the balance payment will be forfeit. The remaining 30% of the balance payment will be refunded.

Cancellation within 11 days of the start of the holiday: the full price of your holiday will be forfeit. No refund will be made.

If, for any reason, you have to leave your holiday earlier than the departure day, you cannot claim a refund.

In the event of cancellation by PYPT in foreseen or unforeseen circumstances, an alternative may be offered; if this is unsuitable for you, then a full refund of the holiday deposit will be given.
