Winter Solstice Celebration at the Sanctuary Studio

Investment: Drop in for each individual session listed below or attend the entire weekend for $125 if purchased by December 15th or $165 thereafter.

The Sanctuary Studio would like to welcome all of the Gunnison Valley to celebrate this special time of year with us. Taking this time together to contemplate the year gone by and nurture ourselves for the year ahead!

Friday December 19th

Soulful Flow & Gong Meditation with Leia & Joe 6-8:30 pm In this decadent 2.5 hour pre-Solstice practice enjoy a slower, more lunar Prana Vinyasa Flow class, taught by Leia Morrison. Following the yoga practice Joe Cachey will lead us through a candlelight gong meditation. Dive in to align yourself physically, mentally and spiritually with the season. Individual Friday Evening Workshop $30 by December 15th, $35 thereafter.

Saturday December 20th

Nurturing From Within with Meegan Haley 9-10:30 am. The Winter Solstice is a time for celebration of faith and a hope that our visions for the future are nurtured. This yoga practice will: nourish the body, provide time and space for the breath, reflect and clear a space for the return of light with in you. Begin with a meditation to clear the mind, standing poses to ground us to the earth, a series of forward bends to connect inward, time for reflection and raise energy. Restorative postures will be built in to the practice to help set an intention of stillness and slowing down. Optional: If you’d like to emphasize the clean, light and purity of the season, you are welcome to wear something white to class. Individual Workshop $15 by December 15th, $20 thereafter.

Ayurvedic Support for the Seasons:Lunch And Self Care To Warm The Winter with Rachel Alter 11-12:30 pm. This class will take place at the Fred Field Center kitchen 275 South Spruce St. Ayurveda, the yogic art and science of self-care and balance, teaches the importance of warming our bodies during the cold winter months. Learn delicious, nourishing recipes and ways to warm the body and soul. We will discuss and learn self-care practices for the winter and learn and create a delicious, warming meal. Individual Workshop $25 by December 15th, $30 thereafter. Due to supplies needed for this workshop, we do require a minimum of 4 participants to be registered by 12/15/14.

Welcoming in the Light Ceremony with Barbara Haas 4-6:30 pm Honor the longest nights of the year and welcome in the days of increasing light. Set your intentions in a theta wave guided visualization for bringing more light into your own life. Experience the power of a healing light ceremony in sacred space indoors. Then drum, rattle and dance at the Sanctuary fire pits outside to embrace your new-found inspirations. Wear black and or white or any ceremonial outfit you feel inspired to wear. We welcome you to bring any drums, rattles and songs! Individual Workshop $15 by December 15th, $20 thereafter

Sunday December 21st

Living Consciously in 2015 – Living a Mindful Life with Mary Burt 9-10:30am. Learn how mindfulness and meditaton can help you reduce stress and cultivate peace in the New Year. In this workshop you will learn how overthinking can add stress, tips for working with this, restorative yoga basics and a 40 minute guided relaxation. Open to everyone, wear comfortable clothes and bring an eye pillow & blanket if you like. Individual Workshop $15 by December 15th, $20 thereafter

Balance It Out! Vinyasa practice with Susan Searle 11:30-1:30 pm. Start the new season off with arm balances and handstands! Tap into your power and invert those old paradigms. (Minimum of 8 students required). Individual Workshop $25 by December 15th, $30 thereafter.

From the Ground Up with Karah Cunningham 5-6 pm. Restorative yoga practice that will ground you for the upcoming season and restorative practice will help torelease stress and redirect tense energy so that you can maintain internal peace in the midst of chaos. Individual Workshop $15 by December 15th, $20 thereafter.
