Worhshop with Darby
Darby & Joanne have been practicing Ashtanga Yoga for over 25 years. They began their practice with Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, the master of Ashtanga Yoga, in 1979 when they spent four years in Mysore, India. They are certified by Pattabhi Jois to teach the original Ashtanga method.

Saturday, April 18th morning from 9 am till 11:30 am : Bandha, Drishti &Vinyasa
Locate your locks and move into your breath to free your practice. One of the challenges of the Ashtanga flow is the vinyasa. Breaking the vinyasa down into its components, we will look at ways in which we can work towards achieving the float back and float through by combining various techniques with breath, bandha, foundation, alignment and Drishti. With these under control, anything can become possible !
Saturday, April 18th after noon from 3 pm till 5:30 pm : Back bending
Not to be you have a sore back or back ’s a must! We will work step by step in practicing the key alignment points that help us practice these poses with ease and safety. We will help students build confidence while finding ways to work with common issues surrounding these poses. With a focus on how to protect vulnerable areas such as the lower back, shoulders and neck.
Sunday, April 19th morning from 9 am till 11:30 am : Led Primary
You will be guided in a continuous flow along all of the way from the opening sun salutations to the closing sequence.
Sunday, April 19th after noon from 3 pm till 5:30 pm : Pranayama session.

Darby and Joanne will lead the self-practice style classes and give personal adjustments and advice to students working their way through their practice whether it is primary, advanced or intermediate.

Tuesday, April 21st morning from 8 am till 11 am : Forward Bends & Side Twists
Stretching with alignment, protecting the lower back and finding real length through reaching. Twists help remove stiffness in the back, neck and shoulders and tone the internal organs. We will incorporate the standing, and sitting twists into a workshop that brings more flexibility into the spine.
Wednesday, April 22st morning from 8 am till 12 am : Adjustment Clinics
Darby will share his expertise in teaching skills and giving adjustment to students. This class is highly recommended for anyone who is currently teaching yoga or for those students at any level curious to learn more.
Thursday , April 23st morning from 8 am till 12 am : Intermediate series
Intermediate series - NadiShodhana, the traditional title for this series, refers to the results of the practice - said to purify the subtle energy channels or nadis thus allowing the prana to flow freely throughout the body. We will explore the intermediate series in depth and approach the postures you might be experiencing some difficulty with.
Friday , April 24st morning from 8 am till 12 am : Chackra Meditation
- Energizing chackras with asanas and chanting
First we will explain the importance of each chackra and their own particular sound followed by a gentle flow of ashtangavinyasa practice with rhythmic chanting of the bija sounds
A chackra meditation will follow the practice and an energizing chackra chanting will conclude the session.
