2nd March Monday 

11.30-14.30 Morning Workshop
‘Active Movements From Your Core: How to get into a Posture’

People often think of ‘core’ work in yoga as the hardening of the abdomen, whereas in fact it is more to do with the ability to move from your core. In this session, Simon will teach you how to enter a posture using your own internal energy.

The methods taught here are the foundations of a sound traditional yoga practice, real internal martial arts as well as modern exercise physiology that can give you core strength with total freedom in your body.

15.30-18.30 Afternoon Workshop
‘Resistance Training From Your Core: Trying to Leave a Posture’

Resistance training has been shown to be one of the most important types of exercise for enhancing health and longevity. However, when practiced incorrectly, as is often the case, it can cause physical damage or physiological stress.

In this session, Simon will show you how to get the benefits of resistance training in static postures (asanas) and dynamic exercises (vinyasas) with no risk of injury.

‘Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga in Depth 1’

It is possible to practice the ashtanga vinyasa primary sequence in a way that can energize, nourish and strengthen your body while developing blissful, grounded calmness. In this safe, accessible and effective way of practicing Simon will show you how to move actively and fluidly from your core while initially allowing your body breathe for you, and later developing breath-control. You will be shown special types of core stabilization for the whole body that can stabilize and nourish your joints and muscles, prevent and heal injuries, and relieve physical pain.

This practice allows you develop fitness and internal health by using spinal movements and graded diaphragmatic breathing into an abdomen firmed through posture. Techniques taught in this workshop also help improve the digestion of food, absorption of nutrients, elimination of waste and stored toxins, and the health of the reproductive system.

14.00-17.00 Afternoon Workshop
‘Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga in Depth 2’

Moving energy in stillness: What to do during a posture? It is relatively easy to generate and move energy in your body if you are moving but most people have difficulty in generating and/or moving energy while the body is still in ashtanga vinyasa yoga. This creates blockages, too much tension, too much stretching and harmful side effects, injuries.

In this session, Simon while help you explore the yogic science of mudra in which you can both generate energy and circulate it while in static postures. The techniques shown here can give tremendous benefits to your muscles, joints and bones as well as your internal organs.
