Full Description

For the first time, our year-long program offers two Yoga for Transformation paths: an Advanced Yoga Teacher Training Program or our new Yoga Immersion Program. Whether you’re a yoga teacher or an avid practitioner, join us for a year of deepening your relationship with yoga.

Transform your personal practice through our unique Yoga Immersion Program. You’ll spend the year deepening your relationship with yoga, crafting a unique personal retreat, focusing on a meaningful project, and expanding your personal practice. Whether you have already completed a Yoga Teacher Training Program or you simply want to strengthen your practice alongside like-minded people, you are welcome in this program.

Regardless of which path you take, over the course of the year we will drill deep down into the many aspects of yoga, including poses, breathwork, meditation, anatomy and physiology, yoga philosophy, and the history of yoga. We will always bring our learning back to how it affects us personally—as well as professionally, for those of us who are yoga teachers—helping us to create deep meaning, purpose, and beauty in our lives.

During the training, each of us will create a personal practice, drawing from aspects of yoga to which we feel allured. We will also focus on a personal project. The subject of that project is up to you: it could be anything that inspires you, from creating yoga classes for special populations to designing a program of relaxed self-care.

Program Curriculum Highlights
The program offers a well-rounded and balanced approach to the key areas of yoga study. Through presentations, large and small group experiences, and discussions we will delve into the theory and practice of the following aspects of yoga:

1) Yoga Techniques

Poses
Breathwork
Meditation
Loving kindness meditation
Gratitude practice
Forgiveness practice

2) Practical Anatomy and Physiology
3) Yoga Philosophy, Ethics, and Lifestyle
4) Karma Yoga
5) Deepening Your Personal Practice
6) Creating and Developing a Year-Long Personal Project

Students in the Advanced 300-Hour Yoga Teacher Training Program will also focus on Yoga Teaching Methodology and Practice Teaching. We will address such topics as:

Qualities of a teacher
Leading a class using a theme
Demonstrating a pose
Observing students
Assisting students
Creating a lesson plan
Student learning and development
Creating a yoga teaching business plan

For all students
Throughout the year, we will contemplate the following questions, which come from a branch of Tantra Yoga:

What do I truly desire?
Of what value is it to me?
What am I prepared to do about it?

Keeping these questions up in our awareness, continually coming back to them, and creating our own unique responses to them will be central to the Yoga for Transformation Program, whether you join in pursuit of your 300-hour certification or as part of the year-long immersion in yoga.

Enrollment in the Yoga for Transformation Program is limited. Please contact me if you are interested so we can set a time to talk in greater detail about the program.

A great group of bright, kind-hearted folks have already enrolled in this year’s Yoga for Transformation Program. We are ready to undertake a wonderful journey beginning in April. I hope you will join us!

The training takes place at the Yoga Center at Solar Hill, a tranquil yoga studio atop a beautiful mansion in Brattleboro, Vermont. This idyllic country setting features large porches for lunching and relaxing, extensive gardens, and a system of trails that start right from the backyard for hiking through the woods in all seasons. Yet despite the retreat feeling that permeates Solar Hill, the Yoga Center is only minutes from downtown, where cafes, restaurants, and boutiques offer pleasant diversions.

Although our days will be full when we meet, great care is taken to design the weekends to feel empowering, not overwhelming.
