Yin, Yang Pranayama & Meditation

This is workshop is an excellent way ‘into’ meditation, the practice moves naturally to a more meditative state. The flow gets the body relaxed, then we enter the yin, which slows us down more, then by adding pranayama and introducing meditations, you’ll leave in a blissed out state!

Full Description

We start with one hour of vinyasa flow to warm up the body. This is the Yang, a flowing, dynamic practice that targets the big muscle groups; stimulating inner heat and energy within the physiological system. The breath adds to the heat and the concentration of the practice, helping to take the focus inside.

This is followed by ninety minutes of Yin, we’ll target the hips and incorporate pranayama and meditation into the practice, which consists of passive poses, with relaxed muscles, that are held for 3 to 5 minutes. Yin works on the fascia and connective tissues of the body, ligaments, bones and joints to enhance the flow of prana in the meridian channels, much in the same way as acupuncture.

This workshop is suitable for all students, no previous experience of yin is necessary.

All you have to do is turn up, tune in and give yourself permission to let go.

This workshop counts as CPD hours for teachers with both Yoga Alliance US and Yoga Alliance UK.
