Yin Yoga and Myofascial Release Workshop
This workshop is to bring a deeper connection to the body, breath and mind through the practice of Yin Yoga. Yin Yoga is a slower, held, cooling practice of the asanas which leaves the mind, body and breath in a state of calm, freedom and balance in the busy-ness of today's modern society.
Type of Event
There will be a 15 min break half way through the workshop.
This workshop is focusing on the release of the fascia (connective tissue) of the body through the physical practice of Yin Yoga and fascia massage with the use of massage therapy balls, Pranayama, Yoga Nidra and Meditation, all combined within the workshop.
The nature of Yin Yoga is to release the fascia that surrounds the muscles, tendons, ligaments and bones, unlike a Yang Yoga practice which targets the "bulk" of the muscles with stretching and strengthening poses.
The main/important part of a Yin Yoga Practice however is to connect to the parasympathetic nervous system (the "rest and digest" part of the central nervous system) which allow your body and your mind to know it is in a safe and nurturing state so it can release, deeply release and that is so necessary for all sense of the body and mind's stress levels that seem to be so out of balance in this fast-paced world we live in.
