This is the only official Yin Yoga Teacher Certification Course authorized by The Yin Yoga Institute and taught by the founding master of Yin Yoga, Paulie Zink. Learn to teach the art of Yin Yoga as it is intended to be taught.
This is session II of the 2 session 100 hour certification (session II may be taken prior to session I)
Yin Yoga was developed by Master Zink from the Taoist spiritual traditions and health practices of ancient China. In Taoist philosophy, the entire universe is regarded as a living organism imbued with life force. Being in harmony with the flow of this energy in nature is the essence of Taoist attitude. The primary purpose of Yin Yoga is to restore and enliven our innate ability to move with fluidity, power, and grace.
Participants learn to open to their intuitive hearts, to discover the individual expression of the artist within, to awaken the spontaneous and playful spirit, and to transcend the boundaries of the analytical mind in order to advance beyond techniques for doing yoga into cultivating a way of being yoga, of living it in our day-to-day lives, and sharing these gifts with the lives of those we touch.
In this Teacher Certification Course, participants study the deeper dimensions and comprehensive components of the art of Yin and Yang yoga, including:
• The alchemy of the Five Elemental Energies;
• The circular flow of energy and the cycle of yin and yang in yoga practice;
• Master Zink's teaching philosophy with emphasis on developing the intricacies and variations of postures;
• The opportunity to practice teaching under Master Zink's supervision
The 100 Hour Yin Yoga Certification course is presented in two separate one week long sessions: Session 1 and Session 2 Participants must attend both session 1 and session 2 to qualify for certification. Participants receive 40 hours class time credit for each week session. The balance of 20 hours needed for a total of 100 hours is earned through reading and writing assignment(s). A book outline is required to receive certification (see suggested reading for more information). Hours earned from attending other Yin yoga workshops taught by Paulie are also applicable to the total hours. Students must have received a certificate of completion for weekend workshops for those hours to qualify. Sessions may be attended out of sequence and individual sessions may be attended at any combination of locations. Students may accrue an additional 100 hours of extra credit to earn a total of 200 hours (at no additional charge- except for other workshops attended). Additional hours are earned through a combination of:
-Yin yoga teaching experience (minimum 10 hours required with a maximum 40 hours allowed)
-Reading and writing assignments (Suggested Reading)
-Hours accrued from attending other Yin yoga workshops taught by Paulie Zink (optional)
