This 2.5 hr. Yin class will leave you feeling refreshed and relaxed and is great for relieving stress and tension. Qi Gong movements are a perfect complement to your Yin practice. Yin is a nurturing style of floor yoga that allows us time in the poses to connect mindfully with body and breath and stimulates the meridians of the body in a similar manner to acupuncture. It targets connective tissues, such as ligaments, bones, and the joints of the body. Yin Yoga is a perfect complement to the muscular (yang) styles of yoga that emphasize internal heat, and the lengthening and contracting of muscles. Yin Yoga generally targets the connective tissues of the hips, pelvis, and lower spine. A yin practice can be quite challenging due to the long duration of the poses. We remain in the postures anywhere from one to five minutes. This class will be offered again on Sunday, March 22.
