Yin/Yang Energetic Balance Retreat
We are delighted to be welcoming Kate to teach at Portugal Yurt Retreat. This summer retreat will offer guests the time and space to delve into their yoga practice, relax and restore equilibrium in their lives. Kate will deliver a week of balance, morning vinyasa classes, heating and cleansing, alongside afternoon yin yoga classes, to slow down, cool and quieten our active minds.
The retreat features yoga, tasty vegetarian meals, wild swimming, hot tub, forest walks, pure water and fresh air.

Kate will be leading a week of yoga exploring the energetics of a Yin and a Yang week will allow guests to work with their entire body and being, giving plenty of opportunities to develop physical and mental strength, balanced with flexibility. Slow and fast, relaxed and vigourous, cool and hot, quiet and loud, feminine and masculine, lunar and solar, Yin and Yang
Mornings classes will be a more dynamic and warming Yang vinyasa class. Afternoon classes will be delving into the very popular Yin Yoga practice, a slower and deeper approach.
Kate came to yoga through a heated vinyasa practice, but has also explored a yin practice which has helped her in dealing with spinal injury. She teaches both methods, and a week on retreat with her will reflect this.
Accomodation is in one of our comfortable yurts, we have two price options available. Our retreats will have no more than 10 guests. We are able to accomodate couples as we have a double bed in one of the yurts, and a smaller 'camping yurt' available for two.
We have two larger permanent yurts which sleep three singles, and we have a small yurt for two. We also have a large bell tent which also sleeps two. Bathrooms and toilets are shared by a maximum of five guests. As we are living sustainably, our bathrooms have solar heated hot water and eco-composting toilets. All beds have mosquito nets. All yurts have some shelving and storage areas.
The food we prepare and serve is tasty and wholesome vegetarian and vegan food. We use vegetables from our own organic garden and then locally sourced fruit and vegetables. We spend a lot of time and care preparing the food for our guests, and we get really great feedback. The food we serve is approximately 80 percent vegan, and 30-40 percent raw.
Breakfast is self service with seasonal fruits, a selection of cereals and toasted sourdough and local corn bread, accompanied by homemade jam or marmalade. A selection of tea (green, black and herbal) and coffee is available throughout the day. Lunches are fresh garden salads, grain salads, falafel or spanish omelette. Usually served with a variety of raw dips, nut pates, or hoummus. Evening meals include a variety of curries with biryani rice or coconut rice, vegetable noodles with stir-fried tofu & vegetables, moussaka and salad, spiced potatos with honey aubergine & couscous. We also have goats here and make our own cheese. Please let us know when booking if you have any special dietary requirements.
