Yin/Yang Yoga Classes
Yin Yoga for a Yang World: Yin Yoga is a quiet practice that emphasizes longer holds of each pose (3-5 min) and muscular relaxation. Lengthening the deep fascial surrounding the joints and stimulating organ meridians will keep the body in balance and in good health. We will balance our practice with dynamic poses that focus on muscle mobility and core strength, followed by mindfulness meditation.
Type of Event
The Fall 10 class session at Grace Lutheran Church starts Thurs, Sept 26 (ends Nov 28) from 1:30 - 3:00 pm
Yin Yoga for a Yang World: In our fast-paced world even the most energetic person can become physically and emotionally drained. The perfect antidote is a quieter, introspective “Yin” practice. Yin Yoga is a more passive, exploratory practice that affects connective tissue and fascia through consciously releasing muscular tension. Each pose is designed to increase stability and mobility in the joint structures, stimulate various energy meridians and enhance the relaxation response for therapeutic benefit. We will complement our practice with Yang Yoga and mindfulness to provide balance and context. Come and experience this as a gift to yourself, and balance the Yin and Yang principles in your life.
