Full Description

This course is designed to prepare you to teach Hatha yoga & Vinyasa Flow. Our focus is on understanding the basics of modern yoga while still respecting the roots of its tradition. This 200-hour teacher training course is practical and INTENSIVE. We will help you to deepen your own practice as well as acquire the necessary skills to become a professional yoga instructor.

Our methods of teaching are interactive, focusing on a fully immersive yoga experience, teaching, and group dynamics. This course include methods of reflective self-analysis as well as a proper diet, all in a lovely, private Thai-style home. This will allow you to enjoy and evolve in the prefect environment for your study. Whether you are just starting your journey or if you are a student who is already teaching and wants to deepen your knowledge, this course is perfect. We pride ourselves on teaching strong foundations.

Location:

We are located in the village of Wok Tum on the island of Phangan in Thailand, about 350 meters from the Koh Phangan Government Hospital. Our home is very secluded, tucked away and surrounded by gardens and lush jungle, yet only 10 minutes from the main town of Thong Sala.

Koh Phangan is a lush, green haven with a strong yoga culture. You will find a wide variety of like-minded souls here and we welcome all new additions!

Activate your bodies vitality with our raw and cooked plant based diet. We use locally sourced produce to bring your body and mind to life through eating healthy, delicious, living food the way nature intended. Our food is created with the upmost love and respect, give your taste buds the permission to embark on this tasty journey.

We provide an excellent western chef to cook vegan and vegetarian food for our guests. Menu will vary day by day. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are all included each day (except arrival day only dinner and departure day only breakfast).

Itinerary:

Throughout this course we will cover:

1) Techniques, Training and Practice: 100 Hours

Topics in this category include Chanting mantras, pranayamas, asanas, kriyas, relaxation, concentration, meditation and other traditional yoga techniques. You will discover guided practices, how to teach and how to practice those techniques.

2) Teaching Methodology: 25 Hours

Topics in this category include communication skills such as group dynamics, time management, and the establishment of priorities and boundaries of the body, speech and mind as well as how to address the specific needs of individuals with difficulties and/or health issues. We will also cover principles of demonstration, observation, assisting and correcting teaching styles. We perfect Hatha & Vinyasa Flow Qualities and go over the behavior of a teacher and the student learning process. We also include instruction on the business aspects of teaching yoga.

3) Anatomy and Physiology: 20 hours

Topics in this category include human physical anatomy and physiology, organs, energy system, Chakras and Nadis, along with their application to yoga practice. We will cover the benefits, contraindications, as well as healthy and safe movement.

4) Yoga Philosophy, Lifestyle and Ethics for Yoga Teachers: 30 hours

Topics in this category include the study of yoga philosophies and traditional texts such as the Yoga Sutras, Hatha Yoga Pradipika & Bhagavad Gita Yogic lifestyle following the 8 limbs. We will cover proper diet and understanding the value of teaching yoga as a service as well as being of service to others

5) Practicum: 10 Hours

This category covers the practice of teaching as the lead instructor. You will learn to receiving and giving feedback and observe others teaching. You will assist other students while someone else is teaching.
