Full Description

This retreat is for anyone who desires to experience ADVENTURE and YOGA in equal doses. This is not an immersive retreat but instead is for active yogis interested in exploring both their inner landscapes and this big wide world of ours simultaneously. Your daily yoga practice is designed to complement the day's adventure. For restorative class following a particularly active day of hiking or a "get up and go" session before hitting the road to our next destination. Equal parts relaxation and exhilaration await!

Retreat Theme Statement:

Dare to go where you have never been. Dream. Explore. Roam Free. Live every moment to your fullest potential. Step outside of your comfort zone and journey into the realms deep within to find your purpose, your joy; the life you truly want to lead. The only day to love, believe, and live is TODAY. Join Amy in freeing the mind and body from holding onto whatever it is that no longer serves you. No more living in yesterday or tomorrow, but living in every moment of today. You are limitless, bountiful, and beautiful. Inside and out. Together, we will open our minds to the positive, explore fun and freedom through mindful meditation throughout our trip. We will find adventure and experience new depths of being.

Bring a journal to explore your thoughts and feelings as well as to record your adventures and your journey into new realms. We will practice yoga daily with mindfulness to what our bodies crave and need. Be ready to laugh, be playful, and have fun while living the life you were meant to live!

“I am an athlete at heart and want to share my of love of yoga with fellow athletes and non-athletes alike. I want to teach others that yoga can provide a non-competitive workout that improves everything from flexibility, endurance, balance and posture to mental focus and breath awareness. These aspects can be important in any athletic training as well as our daily lives.”
- Amy, RYT 200 and 500

With more than 22 years of experience teaching fitness classes as well as being an accomplished runner, cyclist and triathlete, Amy is passionate about educating and training individuals and groups in methods and strategies to live healthier lives.

Amy discovered yoga over a decade ago while researching non-invasive methods for relieving chronic back pain. She found that yoga not only improved her flexibility and relieved her pain it also improved her athletic performance, taught her how to breathe more efficiently, and improved her balance. She found that yoga, at its essence, opened a whole new world of possibilities. She found a path towards peace. Eager to share this knowledge with others, Amy studied yoga under Stephanie Keach at the Asheville Yoga School in Asheville, North Carolina, and later opened her business, YogaFix, based in Albany, Georgia. YogaFix allows Amy to fulfill her passion of teaching individuals techniques to bring holistic wellness into their lives.

In 2013, Amy expanded her yoga training in the world of Therapeutic yoga and obtained her 500-hour RYT status through AYC. Therapeutic yoga involves an inherently holistic approach incorporating mind, body and spirit. It allows the body to naturally move toward health while reducing the effects of illness or injury. It is designed for a wide range of people with physical limitations such as back and/or hip issues, arthritis, cancer, anxiety & depression, and much more.

Amy incorporates many yoga styles into her practice and teachings and especially enjoys power yoga, Vinyasa Flow, and Yin Yoga. During your active retreat with Amy, you will explore a daily mix of these yoga teachings with an emphasis on Therapeutic Yoga and relaxation techniques including daily meditation.

Beyond yoga, Amy is also a two-time Ironman finisher. She is a Level 1 Crossfit Trainer, Endurance and Kids Coach at World Camp Crossfit in Albany. She enjoys utilizing her yoga training to assist members in their athletic endeavors. Amy loves reading, hiking, trail running, camping…pretty much anything in the outdoors with her family.
