Full Description

Dive into a world within through yoga, meditations, dance, and workshops in a secret mountain oasis, just 10 minutes from the warm tropical sea, in the peaceful north of heavenly Bali. Discover. Explore. Be.

Yoga, Dance, Sound and Meditation Retreat is aimed at people who would like to journey within through a series of creative sessions. We work hard to offer a supportive and encouraging atmosphere, and welcome people who have not tried such workshops in the past, as well as those with more experience to join us.

Daily Yoga and Meditation will provide the foundation, with a diverse practice built around this in order to support you to listen to your body. Through stillness and movement, sound and silence, we invite you to discover, explore and be.

Included in the retreat is a special dance workshop created by The River Tree founder, called ‘Chakra Beats’. Through music and movement Chakra Beats will enable you to connect to your chakras in a unique and original way. Our sound session will compliment this and offer an alternative to further your experience. As well as this a chakra meditation, an Aum meditation, and various self awareness workshops will offer grounding to any new vibrations you may have invited.

The daily Hatha Vinyasa class will allow you to benefit from the movement of energy that yoga offers which will in turn complement the retreat as a whole.

All this in an amazing venue that took us months of searching to find. Located in the mountains just 10 minutes from the beautiful and quiet north coast beaches of Bali, we’ve found the right mix of calm, energy, beauty, and affordability.

Bali has long been idolised as the “Island of the Gods”, and it’s not hard to see why. There is a peaceful, uplifting energy on the island that has clearly manifested itself in the rich Balinese culture, which is one of good humour, integrity, respect, and – most importantly – balance and harmony with self and nature.

Nature is so revered that the Balinese orient themselves in relation to the Great Mountain, Mt. Agung, instead of the north and south poles as we are used to. Apart from the majestic volcanic mountains with their crater lakes you’ll find picture perfect rice fields and, of course, the beaches, the warm, azure, tropical sea, and the most beautiful sunsets in the world. All honoured by the thousands upon thousands of temples that dot the island.

Away from from the bustle and bars of Kuta, and the self-proclaimed ‘cultural centre’ of Ubud that is fast becoming a commercial parody of itself, the Balinese have retained their culture and Bali has retained it’s energy. It truly is a magical island the perfect place for a retreat such as this.

The venue we have chosen uses natural spring water, has a wastewater garden, and grows organic veggies which are served for lunch and dinner!! If that’s not enough it puts 50% of its profits towards social, cultural and environmental programmes that benefit the local community.

We love it and we know you will too!

There is also a salt water pool which offers a healthy way to cool down and relax after a dynamic dance or yoga class. Or just go in for some sensory meditation! There is a free shuttle service to the shared beach resort which is 10 mins away, if you fancy a change of scenery or a dip in the tropical sea.

You have a choice of two types of accommodation on this retreat. The beautiful Balinese style Bungalows are made using local, natural materials (not single story, we don’t know why they’re called bungalows, it’s a Balinese thing!). They have been designed with the landscape in mind and are secluded and surrounded by nature, giving you a sense of privacy and intimacy with your surroundings.

For those of you on a slightly tighter budget, you can opt to stay in the grand looking Guesthouse that overlooks the valley. It’s nice and close to the pool, the yoga studio, and the restaurant, and also has stunning views down the valley and over the sea from the shared terrace. It is a truly amazing place to watch the sun set.

The dining area is located in a beautiful spot where you will enjoy the delicious vegetarian food prepared especially for you. If you are lucky you will see dozens of swiftlets flying in the mountains as you enjoy a nourishing smoothie in your free time. There is also a small library here and the staff are attentive but respectful of your space.

Should you wish to unwind even further you can also take advantage of the spa which has the added touch of herbs and plants from the venue’s own organic garden.

A daily Hatha Vinyasa class will allow you to benefit from the movement of energy that yoga offers which will in turn complement the retreat as a whole.

Jayna is also a qualified and experienced counsellor, and is happy to make some time available for one-to-one sessions during the down-time, if you feel you have some things you want to work through with a professional.

The mountain retreat is a rare opportunity to spend time in quiet reflection, taking walks in the natural surroundings and enjoying the salt water pool. However if you start to long for a change of scenery, the Beach Resort is just a 5-10 minute shuttle ride away, and activities and trips into neighbouring towns can be organised from here.
