Join Molly Martin in this workshop of gentle yoga practices to move us out of ‘fight or flight’ and into ‘rest and digest’. Our body’s stress response is hugely useful and necessary to help us during demanding moments in life; but once we’ve dealt with the stressful event, we want to encourage our nervous system to restore equilibrium quickly so that we can resume our healing functions that are postponed during our stress response. Our perpetually ‘switched on’ lifestyles don’t always allow sufficient recovery time and we can become locked in a ‘fight or flight’ response over long periods of time – leaving us feeling burnt out and depleted physically but with an overactive mind that won’t give us a break.

Through gentle asana (postures), pranayama (breath practice) and meditation we can soothe our body, mind and nervous system back into balance, allowing us to access true rest that can be so elusive. The workshop will also offer you short, portable practices that can be used during our day to day lives to consciously create shift at any moment when we find our stress response is hindering rather than helping us.
