Full Description

This course is for those with a new or renewed interest in the benefits of yoga, those who have a desire to try yoga and are not sure where to start, or are not comfortable dropping into an all-level class. Vinyasa yoga unites the body and the breath through the linking of postures, and also creates greater mind-body awareness. The practice will increase your strength and flexibility and also increase your ‘inner flexibility.’

This six-week introduction is open to brand-new students as well as those who wish to reconnect with the fundamentals of alignment in flow-style yoga.

You are never too old or too ‘tight’ to begin. After taking this course, you will find yourself calmer, more focused, grounded, flexible and stronger. Make it a priority to step into your best self!

Class size: Class will be limited to at most six committed students, so you can be confident that you’ll receive plenty of individual attention. Each class will include some basic breath work, meditation and relaxation.

Week 1: Seated poses
Week 2: Sun salutations and standing poses
Week 3: Mild backbends and twisting poses
Week 4: Hip opening poses
Week 5: Inversions (no hand or headstands!), forward bends
Week 6: Putting it all together
