He has studied extensively with Rodney Yee, Patricia Walden, and Erich Schiffmann, and has recently been influenced strongly by the work of TKV Desikachar and Donald Moyer. In addition to
teaching classes, workshops and retreats internationally, he is a presenter at Yoga Journal conferences and the International Association of Yoga Therapy’s SYTAR Conferences. This workshop will discuss the scientific background which explains how and why yoga works to foster healthy aging, and which techniques to use when. Learn essential yoga poses, sequences and other strategies for a lifetime practice to maintain your physical, mental, and emotional health as you age. The primary focus will be on preventative strategies and will cover flexibility, agility, balance, stress
management and equanimity, and as time permits, heart and brain health.
Note to pre-registrants: This workshop is designed for relatively healthy, physically able participants. It will not include information about yoga for seniors who cannot stand unaided and need to practice in chairs. It also will not include specific information about using yoga as therapy for medical conditions, although there will be a bit of general background on that subject.
