Yoga for Scoliosis
In this workshop you will learn practice routines that are effective for scoliosis and learn how to make use of a wall, a chair and other props to make the practice part of your daily life on and off the mat.

Asako Suehiro developed structural scoliosis in her adolescence and has found tremendous help for her back in her yoga practice. In this workshop she shares practice routines that are effective for scoeliosis and demonstrates how to make use of a wall, a chair and other props to make the practice part of your daily life on and off the mat. We will explore our bodies from the spine, and regain balance in body and mind through breathing exercises and relaxation techniques in the postures.
The workshop is suitable for all ages and fitness levels. Previous experience with yoga is not required and children are welcome. It is also suitable for yoga teachers who would like to deepen their knowledge to better help yoga students with scoliosis in their classes.
Have a light meal before the session and wear comfortable clothes that allow you to move freely. If you have had surgery to fuse your spine, please consult your doctor before attending this workshop.
