Full Description

Tamsin Chubb and Steve Cervetti are collaborating to bring together their individual practices: Yoga and Gardening for a working holiday. Providing a holistic experience for healthy being and healthy living.

The week will follow a relaxed structure with morning yoga classes, that include Pranayama (breathing), followed by a flowing sequence of Asana’s based on the Sivananda series of twelve postures that focus on activating chakras (energy centres) from the top chakra down through your body to encourage deep relaxation. Leaving you with a grounded and re-energised sense of wellbeing. Classes are suitable for all levels.

The day is then spent learning, planning and gardening, getting to work on the early stages of the gardens here at Little French Retreat.
There are three areas of terraced land covering one acre in total, cut into the hillside below the ramparts of an ancient castle site: A walled garden surrounding the house, a woodland area situated below and field to one side of the property.

Guided all the way we will be working as a team to:

Create and plant borders in the walled garden: put together a plant plan for a self-maintained space, suited to minimal watering
Learn how to use plants to design a soothing, restful colour palette with height and structure
Work with the natural environment to clear and create zones
Learn how to take cuttings as an affordable way to develop your own plant collection
During the week we will go on two trips to formal and unusual gardens in the region that provide ideas, inspiration and a chance to see more of the area and beautiful surrounding countryside.

Be part of the creating process here at Little French Retreat and join us. Enjoy all the benefits at a greatly reduced price of **£220.00** inclusive of classes, day trips, all meals and accommodation. Even the dog is helping out!

Yoga Teacher
Tamsin offers a yoga practice that is designed to take you into a deeper understanding with your true self connecting and balancing the mind and body with ease. A powerful class that begins with the practice of pranayama and meditation leading into a gentle flowing asana practice, resulting in being left restored and relaxed. She first discovered yoga in her early twenties with Sivananda in London and instantly loved the way it made her feel. She has practiced varying styles of yoga, yet returned to where she began and took her 200 hours teaching course with Sivananda in the Himalayas. She has spent time in ashrams in France and India to deepen her knowledge of yoga, teach and work as a Karma Yogi, practicing selfless service.

Gardener
Steve has been a professional gardener for over 20 years. He started his training in horticulture aged sixteen and has always loved the complexity of gardening and how it provides endless possibilities and diversity, stimulating all of your senses to offer an all encompassing experience. For him, gardening is a meditative practice that captures all of your attention, “To loose your sense of time in nature is very therapeutic. Plants offer so much that they can become an addiction, there is always something new to learn and add to each garden. The act of turning an area of wasteland into a creative, beautiful magical space never seems short of a miracle”.
His love of plants and sense of adventure has led him around the world to garden in America, New Zealand, the Lake District (where he is from) and for the past two years in France. Expanding his knowledge on varying climates, soil types and plant species.
