Yoga & Mindfulness Eco Retreat

I am delighted to offer this practice in Portugal this Summer; such a beautiful and tranquil space is ideally suited to the nature of this work, retreating from our lives and everyday routines for a week of healing, resting and nurturing. Includes: mindful Yoga flow, breath-work, nature walks, Shiatsu massage, yummy wholesome food, and soaking in the hot tub under starry skies! For beginners as well as those who want to deepen their practice.

Full Description

I offer a therapeutic and mindful approach to yoga, using asana (yoga postures) and awareness of our breathing to open up the body, heart and mind. The poses are used as a tool to enquire into what we are experiencing in the moment, to come closer to our tensions and habitual patterns of movement so we can release any contractions and resistance, so we can lighten up and live a little more So it´s not about twisting your leg over your head, and you don´t have to be flexible to enjoy the practice! This eco retreat is held in the heart of Portugal, in a magical spot where we can connect deeply to our wild natures - inside and out!

The morning sessions will involve dynamic and flowing yoga sequences, synchronising our breath and movement (Vinyasa), and moving from external alignment to awareness of internal space and greater freedom. In the evenings we will practice Mindfulness Meditation which complements the yoga practice; it is a chance to (dare to!) slow down in the midst of our lives. By getting quiet with ourselves and developing a deep inner listening we can start to explore how we inhabit the body, the nature of mind and our This will be explored in a variety of ways (walking meditation, restorative yoga postures, and other practices that cultivate somatic awareness `felt sense´), as often the body is not ready to sit comfortably in meditation without unwinding our tensions and releasing some stress first. With deep relaxation we can learn to dissolve tension and find out who we are when these tensions start to drop away.

Additionally we will have some fun mid-week with a Partner Yoga workshop and a Shiatsu Introductory workshop (basic acupressure massage), to release stress and connect with each other. Hot tub and river swims available, and free time to enjoy the beautiful surroundings. All meals included, delicious vegetarian cuisine and bonfire on last evening.
