Yoga Nidra

Needing some Yoga Nidra deep sleep? On March 30 at 4pm, the 6th Yoga Nidra Workshop will be offered at Siesta Yoga for $15 if you sign up a week ahead, or $20 the day of. Class begins with some yoga poses (asana) to warm up the body, a little play time, then 35-45 minutes of divine yogic sleep (Yoga Nidra) with a short amount of journaling time afterward in order to help transition back to "real life" while taking any realizations or thoughts with them.

Needing some Yoga Nidra deep sleep? On March 30 at 4pm, the 6th Yoga Nidra Workshop will be offered at Siesta Yoga for $15 if you sign up a week ahead, or $20 the day of. Class begins with some yoga poses (asana) to warm up the body, a little play time, then 35-45 minutes of divine yogic sleep (Yoga Nidra) with a short amount of journaling time afterward in order to help transition back to "real life" while taking any realizations or thoughts with them. There will also be a few 's for sale for $10 for those who want to take home the practice and benefit from Yoga Nidra more often.

Yoga Nidra is the state of being between sleep and wakefulness where the relaxation response and regeneration occur. This healing practice relieves stress patterns by retraining the nervous system to relax which creates a natural setting for the body to heal itself. Yoga Nidra is the perfect supplement to yoga, therapy, meditation, and other healing modalities or can be used alone. Yoga Nidra has been proven through studies at Stanford, Walter Reed Army Medical Center and other universities to help reduce symptoms of stress, anxiety, trauma, depression, high blood pressure, insomnia, addiction and cholesterol, and increases overall calm and feelings of well-being, enhances creativity and motivation, strengthens the endocrine system, and balances the nervous system. Everyone can benefit from Yoga Nidra, children included (this particular workshop is for adults or teens who are able to sit/lay still for 35 or more minutes).

Please wear comfortable, stretchy clothing, bring a yoga mat and anyone you think might benefit from some relaxation! This meditation requires nothing except listening to the sound of my voice and being aware of your body. It will work even if you fall asleep!
