Yoga Nidra, which means “yogic sleep”, derives from an ancient practice called Nyasa, which means “to place.” A key step of Yoga Nidra is the rotation of consciousness -- placing awareness on different parts of your body as a means of bringing your mind inward and away from your daily thoughts.
In this workshop for yoga teachers, Julia will describe the stages of Yoga Nidra—the purpose of each and what they entail. You will practice teach and receive feedback for rotation of consciousness, which brings students into a deep state from which healing occurs. In addition, Julia will provide concrete suggestions for teaching Yoga Nidra classes and address issues of providing safety and comfort to your students as they take this journey.
