Yoga Nidra: The Meditative Heart of Yoga
iRest® Yoga Nidra is a simple, body-centered meditation technique practiced while resting comfortably either lying on the floor or sitting in a chair. Yoga Nidra (literally “sleep of the yogi”) is an ancient tantric yoga practice that induces physical, mental and emotional relaxation while the practitioner remains alert and awake. It is also an experience of inquiry designed to facilitate awakening to one’s true nature as unconditioned being.
The workshop involves an introduction to the practice of iRest® Yoga Nidra, including an experiential overview of its underlying structure —the kosha model—and the various components of the practice, a guided iRest® Yoga Nidra practice, time for integration and Q&A.
