A yoga nidra session is a somatic relaxation practice to release stress, tiredness, overwhelm and mental exhaustion. Practicing yoga nidra is like pressing the reset button for your body, mind and spirit. The word nidra means sleep in Sanskrit. Yoga nidra, so called, because it engenders a state of relaxation so complete and profound that an hour of yoga nidra is akin to getting the benefit of a full night’s sleep. No matter how stressed or exhausted you are going in, you will emerge on the other side rejuvenated and in a place of lightness with a deep sense of peace and fulfillment.
No previous yoga or meditation experience is necessary. However, the experienced yogi and meditator will find that find that yoga nidra deepens their practice and connection to themselves and be more in the flow.
What to Expect: It is a guided practice. During the workshop, you will mostly lie in Shavasana (Corpse Pose) and follow the instructor’s voice.
What to Bring: A yoga mat, a blanket or something to cover yourself, a pillow or something soft to put under your head. Also suggested - a bottle of water and a notebook in case you want to journal your experience.
