Yoga of Recovery provides a safe venue for processing trauma and releasing the pain of the past in order to step forward with lightness and a fresh perspective.
Type of Event
Our traumas and the effects of harmful behaviors can live inside our bodies for years. Frequently in yoga classes these moments of emotional discovery are seen as peripheral or incidental to the practice; the release of stagnant emotions is noted as an occasional benefit of the largely physical and spiritual exercise of yoga. There are some practitioners who look at it another way: they see the release of suppressed emotions as a central benefit of practicing yoga. Yoga of Recovery provides a safe venue for processing trauma and releasing the pain of the past in order to step forward with lightness and a fresh perspective.
This group is open to anyone and everyone that is suffering. The classes begin with a themed discussion that encourages the sharing of ideas and feelings. There is no pressure to speak - you can just listen. The sharing circle is followed by an intentionally themed yoga class that aids in moving tension out of the body with focused breath and movement.
Yoga of Recovery classes are ALWAYS donation based since you are ALWAYS more important than your money. There is no minimum to give although we do suggest $10/per person if you have the means.
