Yoga of Recovery Meetup
Yoga of Recovery classes are designed to give practical and useful information that can be easily applied in our lives. The classes include a lecture/discussion on recovery tools, techniques, and spiritual principles, a basic therapeutic yoga class with breathing and relaxation techniques, and closes with a guided meditation. Each month we will explore a different topic related to our behaviors and addictions. We will learn methods specifically designed to bring more peace into our daily life
Type of Event
Occurs on the first Sunday of each month
What is Yoga of Recovery?
It is a unique opportunity open to anyone curious about exploring our daily behaviors and tendencies from the ancient viewpoint of Eastern Philosophy merged with modern, Western recovery concepts.
No previous experience with yoga or recovery is necessary!
Everyone suffers from addictive behaviors…
Addiction is a topic that is rarely discussed openly, but all have felt the effects of addiction either personally or through a loved one. We all have some sort of addictive behavior in our lives —food, sugar, relationships, caffeine, technology, drama, competition, alcohol, drugs, shopping, risk taking—the list is endless. Learning how to appropriately heal from these addictive tendencies, behaviors and effects is exactly the purpose of Yoga of Recovery!
Our often hectic and stressful lifestyles can take us to a place where we feel disconnected from everything and everyone around us, and we look for distractions from these feelings of emptiness and separation. We have a hunger and thirst for true fulfillment, but it cannot be filled from the outside.
