Yoga retreat in India with Bristol Maryott
Join Bristol Maryott and Kate O'Donnell for a 10-day yoga retreat at beautiful Basunti in North India. We will offer two yoga classes daily: Gentle Jivamukti and Ashtanga, as well as Ayurvedic workshops. Or explore the rural village, hike the nature preserve, swim in the lake or relax by the pool. We'll take a day trip to Dharamsala, home of the Dalai Lama. Enjoy the wonderful Basunti hospitality -- especially their renowned vegetarian Indian food.
Type of Event
Early bird - for full payment by 13 August 2013. This includes all yoga tuition, food and lodging but no transportation.
Basunti in North India is a magical place, a remote retreat center in the middle of a nature reserve. Imagine practicing yoga in the marble shala to the tune of bird song and splashing fish. After yoga, you might go swimming through the lake to rocky islands, lie by the pool listening to the distant scrambling of monkeys or chant on the roof from which you can see the Himalayas. Or eat a delicious meal of fresh soup and salad and Dave's homemade raisin walnut bread! The only way to tear myself away from Basunti is by promising myself that I will definitely go back.
Bristol Maryott, a certified Jivamukti & prenatal yoga teacher, and Kate O'Donnell, a level I & II certified Ashtanga yoga teacher and Ayurvedic consultant, are pleased to be offering a retreat at Basunti March 15-25, 2014. Kate will be teaching Ashtanga every morning and Bristol will be offering a gentler Jivamukti class (with restoratives!) each afternoon. Kate will lead some Ayurvedic workshops so that we can support our yoga practice with the ancient healing system of Ayurveda. We will also practice chanting and meditation together. There will be an optional day trip, most likely to Dharamsala -- home to the Dalai Lama's monastery.
Cost is $1550 (early-bird discount!) if you are fully paid before Aug 13. The cost of the retreat includes all food, yoga and lodging but does not include any transportation or the optional day trip. The website is so you can check Basunti out for yourself and ogle the pictures. The retreat is limited to 18 students. Email for more information.
