Although this event is hosted by Sunshine Yoga & the UMKC School of Nursing and Health Studies, It will actually take place at Pierson Hall located in the Atterbury Student Success Center at UMKC.

Desirée Rumbaugh returns to Kansas City with innovative ideas and creative ways to continue to build and maintain your balanced life of body, mind and spirit. Classes are open to everyone and can be taken individually. However, for those who can participate in the entire weekend, there will be tremendous benefit as each class builds on the next. You can feel a restructuring process in just 10 hours.

Desirée Rumbaugh, creator of the DVD series Yoga to the Rescue, teaches from the experiences of more than two decades of practice. As a full-time teacher, Desirée travels the world offering workshops, which are innovative and transformative, challenging and compassionate. Saturday 9:30-noon Backbends Part I
This workshop will lay the groundwork for a healthier more flexible spine. Beginning with standing poses and culminating in basic backbends.

Saturday 1:30-4:00 Hip Openers and Forward Bends, Pranayama and Meditation
Take your spine in the opposite direction and explore your flexibility in body and mind.

Sunday 9:30-noon Backbends - Part II
Challenge yourself to go a bit deeper into your body and mind by balancing strength with flexibility.

Sunday 1:30-4:00 Yoga Therapeutics

Experience the latest techniques in yoga therapeutics. Apply techniques from Physical Therapy that enhance understanding of your yoga practice.
