Full Description

World-renowned Seven Mile Beach is consistently rated as one of the best beaches in the Caribbean by various travel magazines year after year. In 2011, TripAdvisor members rated it as one of the Top 10 Beaches Worldwide!

Located in the Western Caribbean, the Cayman Islands are located about 480 miles (770 km) south of Miami, 150 miles (240 km) south of Cuba, and 180 miles (290 km) northwest of Jamaica. There are three separate islands: Grand Cayman, Cayman Brac, and Little Cayman. Inundated with the vibrant tropical colours of the lush Caymanian flora, bright coral reefs, flourishing marine life and exotic native birds, the Cayman Islands are a showcase of natural beauty.

Jackie and Andy have created YogaVeda Retreats with the main goal being to share their passion for yoga, ayuveda, wellness and of course, exotic tropical destinations.

You can choose to participate in a traditional form or Ayurvedic Detoxification, Panchakarma, during your retreat.

More than simply a system of treating illness, Ayurveda is a science of life. It's very name means Ayur = Life, Veda = Knowledge. It offers a vast body of wisdom designed to help you stay vital while realizing your full potential. Ayurveda reminds us that health is the balanced and dynamic integration between our environment, body, mind & spirit.

Our cleansing and detox retreats are based in the Ancient Tradition of Ayurveda, a 5,000 year old system of holistic healing the its roots deep in the Vedic culture of ancient India.

Ayurveda works on the principal of balance verses imbalance. When a person is in balance he feels happy, healthy, alert, motivated and vibrant. When a person is out-of-balance, he feels sad, anxious, fatigued, or even depressed. In life, we are always moving in and out of balance. Your Ayurvedic Consultation will assess these imbalances, and direct you on a path back into balance.

Our Ayurvedic treatments are based upon centuries-old Ayurvedic therapies that support balance and bliss in your life. The revitalizing and therapeutic treatments offered are customized to your particular needs.

Your therapist will use specific oils, herbs, and aromas chosen to provide you with optimal balance and nourishment for your mind-body constitution. All therapies are natural, gentle, and delightfully pleasing.

At Yoga Veda Retreats we teach a traditional, exact and easy-to-learn yoga system that aims at naturally achieving the goal through creating a healthy body and mind that leads to spiritual evolvement.
Based in the teachings of Swami Sivananda, Swami Vishnudevananda summarized the yoga philosophy in 5 principles or the Five Points of Yoga which make the complex teachings of yoga easier to understand:

Proper Exercise (Asanas) - Yoga poses help develop a strong, healthy body by enhancing flexibility and improving circulation.

Proper Breathing (Pranayama) - Deep, conscious breathing reduces stress and many diseases.

Proper Relaxation - Helps keep the body from going into overload mode, easing worry and fatigue.

Proper Diet - Eating simple, healthy and vegetarian foods that are easy to digest notably have a positive effect on the mind and body, as well as the environment and other living beings.

Positive Thinking (Vedanta) and Meditation (Dhyana) - These are the true keys to achieving peace of mind and eliminating negativity in our lives.
