Full Description

The Youth Yoga Teachers Training Course (YYTTC) is geared towards young adults ages 16-21. In addition to becoming certified yoga instructors, registered with the Yoga Alliance at the 200 hours level, you will learn about topics relevant to your stage of life. Topics like, the universal laws and how they apply to you, goal setting, and decision making techniques based on yogic principles, life lessons that will help you understand the nature of the human condition, and how to manage stress and anxiety in your everyday life.

By the end of this 2 week intensive residential course you will be able to teach a class with confidence and be able to impart knowledge based on practical experience. Your knowledge will come not only from the time spent in study and communication with instructors but also from the awareness that is garnered and encouraged throughout this course by the simple act of mindfulness. Life is the greatest teacher if you can know how to listen to its lessons that are being taught at every moment; this idea of moment to moment awareness will be taught and encouraged in this course and by the end of the course you should have a solid foundation on how to look within to find your answers.

This course can be repeated as many times as you wish for further enrichment and experience.

This course will be taught by Chitra Sukhu and Leela Mata both registered with yoga alliance at the E-RYT 500 Level.

Raja Yoga- eight limbs of yoga
Pranayama- understanding & awakening the life force
Asana- theory & practice, two sessions daily
Meditation- the science of stilling the mind
Philosophy- Samkhya, Bhakti, Karma & Gyana
Yoga Anatomy- structure & alignment for yoga
Subtle Anatomy- uncovering the chakra system
Chanting- mantra, kirtans & shlokas
Ayurveda- understanding vata, pita & kapha
Yogic Diet- principles of Sattva, Rajas & Tamas
