This workshop consists of four, 90 min. classes conducted once per week: September 27, October 4, 11 and 18.
Zen Yoga is one of unique forms of Yoga that traditionally was developed in Japan under the influence of Oriental spiritual traditions and martial arts to heal injuries and develop the body’s strength, flexibility and endurance, mental clarity and peace of mind. You will appreciate dynamic movements that differ from classical Hatha, Iyengar, Shivananda, Vinyasa or other known styles of yoga. Dynamic movements of this Zen Yoga style produce heat in the abdominal area (Hara/Tanden) and is performed mainly while sitting or lying on a floor mat. Zen yoga also incorporates variety of powerful breathing, deep relaxation techniques and meditation, as well as use of special acupressure points - "tsubo". This style of yoga is very therapeutic and its effect is compared to receiving massage therapy and acupuncture together.
