About Niyagama House - your retreat in the tea plantation
The retreat Niyagama House, situated on the highest point of an active tea plantation in southern Sri Lanka, was completed in 2012 by the German architect and yoga teacher Elke de Silva and her Sri Lankan husband Chaminda. By combining modern elements with traditional Sri Lankan design, it is an absolute architectural highlight.
The seven generous rooms are equipped with high quality furniture and luxurious bathrooms. From every room you have a wonderful view into nature. The peaceful location makes it a perfect place for a relaxing holiday.
It is located nine kilometers inland from the coastal city of Galle and the Unesco World Heritage Galle Fort. In 20 minutes you will reach the southern beaches of the Indian Ocean and the distance to the airport of Colombo is 130 km.
