About The Fishponds Yoga Retreat House
The Fishponds yoga retreat offers both Day and Weekend Retreats.
Whether you would like to take some time to gain a deeper understanding of yoga and how it can contribute to a healthier lifestyle for both body and mind, or are simply looking to treat yourself or a loved one to a unique well-being escape, come and experience the yoga lifestyle in the tranquil surroundings of the Fishponds Yoga Retreat, this venue lends an atmosphere quite unlike anywhere else, cosy, refined yet welcoming. The ideal location in which to follow Zita’s 3 R’s philosophy of Relax, Repair and Recharge.
Weekend retreats commence at 4.00pm on a Friday and close at 4.00pm on the following Sunday. Places are strictly limited to a maximum of 6 participants. Shared accommodation is provided in 3 comfortable bedrooms, there is ample space for relaxation and socialising together with an abundance of quiet spots for solitude and reflection. Day retreats commence at 10am and finish at 3pm offering
The yoga studio used is a perfect space to heal, unwind, relax and benefit from Zita’s expert yoga tuition. With floor to ceiling glass doors facing onto the manicured gardens you will experience a oneness with nature come rain or shine. During milder months the studio doors will be open bringing the sights, sounds and smells of the surrounding countryside to your senses. During colder times the studio will be warmed by the blazing log burner.
A typical retreat comprises of the following elements, however is uniquely personalised to your own individual yoga needs. You will be guided in Breathing Exercises, Basic Yoga Asanas, Sun Salutation and Deep Relaxation, which will be practised in the Mornings and Evenings. Individual corrections and detailed instructions will be provided to all participants to help them carry out the exercises in a relaxed and controlled manner to improve flexibility. Beginners and those requiring a gentler approach will be coached in the basic poses. More advanced students will be helped to maintain basic poses for longer and given an introduction to advanced variations.
The heart of the retreat lies in the Meditation Exercises, here you will be coached in Positive Thinking and Concentration and time will be devoted to Mantra Chanting. You will be inspired with insights to the philosophy and psychology of Yoga and will even experience walking meditation.
Proper nutrition is a vital part of the retreat and in addition to healthy snacks you will receive two wholesome vegetarian meals prepared in accordance with Yogic Principals, you will assist in the preparation of these meals gaining useful knowledge to take with you on your journey to a healthier way of living.
