BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF YOGA WORKSHOP

This class is designed to help anyone suffering from back pain or a weak lower back and needs to strengthen their core and improve flexibility. We will engage in a variety of counter postures of forward, backward & side bends to make the spine and back more supple and elasticated. A range of other specific asanas will be employed to deal with other defects and conditions.

Dynamic Yoga Sequence inspired by the Primary Series, in the Ashtanga Practice. The class is open to everyone, beginners and seasoned yogis that are looking to improve tools and asanas. I teach technique to also build into inversions. Its a fun class and we work hard. Come Play!

Hot Rocket is a cross between ashtanga and vinyasa, and is noted as the original ‘power yoga’. Developed by Larry Schultz in 1980s San Francisco, the style is expected to keep you moving faster and more fluidly than a typical hot yoga class. While you might miss a few of the sequences in the first sessions, you will quickly catch on by the third or fourth. Classes are regularly booked, so book early. Knowledge of Sun Salutation's is recommended, but modifications will be made. Room is heated.

Ashtanga derives from the teachings of Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, linking breath and movement in a continuous flow. The class is based on the Primary Series - a dynamic sequence of postures practiced with focused breathing techniques, designed specifically to align the body and strengthen the nervous system, while cultivating a feeling of inner peace and leading to a natural state of meditation. Classes will be taught to music.

A powerful and dynamic style of yoga developed by Sri K Pattabhi Jois, in which set series of postures (The Primary Series) are linked dynamically to the breath in a flow of movement increasing strength and flexibility. When the set sequence of postures becomes familiar, the mind relaxes and the practice can become deep and meditative, yet still dynamic. This class is suitable for intermediate students and beginner students who have been taught the Astanga series. This is not suitable for complete beginners or those that have never practiced Astanga.
