Encompassing the principles of Pilates, the prana and asana of yoga and tai chi, and the great athleticism of dance, Garuda strengthens your whole core and nourishes from within. We start simple and develop into more complex movements and patterns. Garuda foundations, seated and standing movements will be utilized in our practice to further improve overall fitness. The Pilates-based core work combined with gentle twists and spirals encourages greater flexibility in the spine and creates a healthy fascia system with movements that are creative to challenge the mind and body.

Level 1-3
Hatha is the most common branch of yoga practiced in the United States. Hatha is derived from the Sanskrit words for sun (Ha) and moon (tha), which suggests the goals of balance and harmony between opposites. It is considered the mother of many other forms we know today. You will find a focus on breathe and alignment with an emphasis on allowing your body to move through the postures gently.
The Hatha Flow classes are appropriate for any level yoga with a basic understanding of the postures. You develop self-awareness and a calm mind along with increased flexibility and enhanced state of well-being.

An alignment/therapeutic hatha flow class with the intent to cultivate a deeper relationship with the practice. This is not your average hatha class, you'll work and flow, yet learn how to access and understand poses through precise movement. Each class will take a thematic and alignment based approach which will take you deeper into areas of your body through subtle and specific alignment cues. Expect to tap into underworked parts of your body, discover patterns of holding, and releasing tight muscles to create ease and balance in the body. All levels welcome!

Kundalini, “the yoga of awareness,” opens your heart, builds strength and releases the energy located at the base of your spine. Each teacher will bring their own experience to the practice — some much more traditional than others — but Kundalini is without a doubt one of the more spiritual styles of yoga. Kundalini yoga focuses on breath and movement and challenges its students both physically and mentally.

This moderately paced class is appropriate for beginners, as well as for seasoned students seeking to review classic poses. Students will learn basic standing, seated, twisting, back bending and inverted postures that are the foundation of the Iyengar method. Class length is 75 minutes.

Hatha Alignment is a moderately paced dynamic class with focused attention to detailed alignment principles and the actions of engagement that support and empower the practitioner to both move more deeply into the postures. Students can expect a well-rounded class, which includes strength building, flexibility, balance, concentration, meditation, pranayama, and mindfulness. An excellent class for those with injuries or physical challenges, modifications and variations are given to accommodate students of all levels.

This class can be enjoyed by students at any level of experience. Poses (asanas) are offered with variations and modifications so there is something for each student.

Sun Salutations and flowing sequences of asanas change and align with the breath. Expect standing poses, balance poses, inversions – a little bit of everything but moving towards a broader spectrum of poses that may challenge some students.

These classes also focus on the relationship between strength and flexibility.

Yoga Flow

A variety of traditional postures taught in accurate alignment and sequence. Emphasis is placed on strength, flexibility, balance, concentration, and breathing. This class is based on body, mind, breath and spiritual connection. Suitable for all levels of practice. Variations will be offered for beginners and for advancing students.
Each class is fun and different, offering lots of variety.

Restorative is a form of gentle yoga with passive restorative postures to open the body, quiet the mind and move into a deep sense of relaxation. A meditative time to cultivate awareness of body breath and mind, this class is recommended for those experiencing stress, recovering from injury or illness, and anyone seeking a gentle class to unwind, relax and renew.

This class is appropriate for beginners.
