Iyengar Yoga, named after and developed by B. K. S. Iyengar, is a form of Hatha Yoga that has an emphasis on detail, precision and alignment in the performance of posture (asana) and breath control (pranayama). The development of strength, mobility and stability is gained through the asanas.

Yoga for Seniors is a very gentle class for 50+ (as well as beginners of any age) focusing on strengthening the body, and increasing balance and flexibility with props. On the 2nd Friday of every month, this is a Restorative Yoga class.

Open to all ages but the focus is on bodies that might need a bit more attention. We work on flexibility and strength and use a lot of props. There is challenge for those looking for a challenge and modifications for different needs. You are never to old to begin yoga and any body can benefit from the gentle movements.

Rebalance the mind & body with vinyasa yoga to a stellar playlist. Known for its dynamic, meditative and creative sequences, vinyasa yoga combines movement with breath. Sequences are designed to create mental clarity, foster creativity, enhance productivity, improve mindfulness, and alleviate physical symptoms from prolonged sitting or standing. Walk away from this class feeling refreshed and recharged. Learn new poses and transitions, gain strength and mobility. Find and maintain equanimity off the mat. Everything that we see and feel and experience we realize is actually an aspect of ourselves. “Nidra” is a word that means “sleep” in Sanskrit, but when it’s coupled with the word “yoga” in “yoga nidra,” it actually means to know yourself with a deep sense of connection, whatever state you’re in.

- Welcoming emotions, thoughts, sensations and joy
- Exploring the wisdom and healing capacity of your body and mind

This workshop is an iRest yoga nidra meditation practice inspired by the teachings of Richard Miller, PhD, which we could do before we go to bed or anytime during the day. It is a path of mindfulness and a path of discovering who we are. Through these practices we learn to welcome all the different changing states of our emotions, thoughts, beliefs or sensations, becoming very comfortable with them and feel in harmony and at peace with ourself and the world around us.

This rejuvenating practice integrates yin movements, long-hold postures using props, fundamental breath awareness (pranayama), mindfulness and meditation. These elements combine to foster a gradual and deep release of physical, emotional and mental tensions. With this our natural state of embodied presence and an undefended heart once more is revealed.

Iyengar yoga is a method of Hatha Yoga developed over a period of 70 years by Iyengar of Pune, India, one of the world's most acclaimed yoga masters. Iyengar yoga's basic principles of movement are compatible with current developments in the field of physical therapy and in other modern bodywork disciplines.

Students practicing Iyengar yoga are encouraged to refine both their knowledge of asanas (poses) and pranayama (breathing) using this method. Asanas are individualized for the needs of different bodies. Various props are used maximize opening and awareness throughout the body. In addition to developing physical strength, balance and flexibility, Iyengar yoga develops emotional strength that helps students handle the challenges of life.
