An open class for mixed ability levels. The style varies according to the student population, sometime strong, sometimes flowing, sometimes recuperative. Always fun and aimed towards establishing good postural alignment and movement efficiency.

These classes are suitable for all levels. The general structure of class is a warm-up, sun salutations, creative standing suquences, seated/ floor poses and guided relaxation, with breathing exercises (pranayama) also. I like to focus on alignment and setting up poses from the foundations up. I encourage students to find their own individuality and personal practice and bring in themes of nature, the moon phases, specific body areas and peak poses.

Fun, creative yoga for adults using breath to flow from one posture to another. Focus on alignment and building strength, stamina and mobility.
Due to the smaller studio space, this class runs as a termly course. Any missed classes can be made up at any of the Balham Drop in classes at any time during the term.

This is vigorous total body workout. During the Fitness Yoga session we focus on movement and breathing to link them together. Good pose depends of your understanding what part of muscles should be working and what you would feel in every single pose.

A Hatha Vinyasa Flow class, suitable for all abilities. Each week we will explore a new sequence and range of postures. Class includes opening meditation, breathe focus, stretch, flow and relaxation.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF YOGA WORKSHOP

This class is designed to help anyone suffering from back pain or a weak lower back and needs to strengthen their core and improve flexibility. We will engage in a variety of counter postures of forward, backward & side bends to make the spine and back more supple and elasticated. A range of other specific asanas will be employed to deal with other defects and conditions.

A nurturing space to build confidence in your yoga practice. Class size is limited to a maximum of 4 people.

A class focusing on reducing stress following a busy work day. We use movement, breath, and meditation/yoga nidra to find a place of calm and relaxation. This is class dedicated to self care and giving back to the staff who give some much of themselves to their students and families of the school.

Off the wall is a yoga class for beginners and intermediates. This class will ease you into poses gently, gradually improving body awareness needed for more challenging poses.

Ashtanga Yoga is a flowing style of yoga Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga where the postures (asanas) are linked to the breath (vinyasa) which produces internal heat while detoxifying the body. It builds strength, flexibility, and stamina, while calming the mind and improving overall health.
