Mixed ability class

A balanced class including asana, pranayama, mantra, bandha, meditation, kriya, and atma vichara (self - enquiry).

A Garuda matwork class using the floor, the foam roller and blocks. Garuda is a new innovation in the pilates world. It is a strong dynamic practice. It works into the fascial lines of the body. It is deeply strengthens for the core, incorporating strong pelvic and shoulder stability. Movements are fluid, functional, strong and graceful. There is a lot of opening into the side ribs to facilitate deeper breathing and organic movement. The Garuda system combines the athleticism of dance, with the strength and focus of pilates and the mindfulness of yoga.

Fun, creative yoga for adults using breath to flow from one posture to another. Focus on alignment and building strength, stamina and mobility.
Due to a more limited space, numbers are restricted and this class runs as a course. Any missed classes can be made up in Balham at the drop in classes at any time during the term.

The class is open to those on a low income , carers and/or those with ongoing anxiety/ depression or other challenging issues. It is suitable for Beginners Onwards. Mats are provided.
