At 8 Limbs we teach an anatomically precise form of classical Vinyasa Yoga based on the teachings of T. Krishnamacharya, K. Pattabhi Jois and Iyengar, integrated into the context of Patanjali's eight-limbed yoga (Ashtanga Yoga).
In classical Vinyasa Yoga set series of postures are woven together using flowing movements to create one sequence. It is the sequencing of yoga postures that is called vinyasa. Each movement is synchronized with the breath to become a meditation in movement - like a sacred dance. In this classical system, the postures are designed in a specific order to realign and detoxify the body and to purify the energy channels. Focussing on the breath the mind becomes calm. An internal stillness develops within this exercise of dynamic movement. The result is vibrant health, a clear mind and deep relaxation.
