Paula Petri, an Experienced Registered Yoga Instructor and Yoga Therapist, 500 hour. She is also a Pilates Instructor, Reiki Master, Shamanic Energy Practitioner and an Intuitive Channeler.
Paula has received her yoga training through Feel Your Best Yoga. Her Reiki training, Shaman Energy Training and intuition classes are through Amy Wilinski, owner of Golden light Healing, along with having taken workshops from Jose Luis Herrera, Peruvian Shaman. In addition she has taken workshops and intensives through Yoga Journal Conferences with well known yogis such as Aadil Palkhivala, Tias Little and Baron Baptiste.
She has also personally trained with Hemalayaa Behl for Yoga Dance.
Paula also enjoys working with and developing her intuitive gifts. You will find her healing sessions (and sometimes her yoga classes) will almost always include channeling from spirit. She has attended classes and workshops with well known authors, mediums and intuitives such as James Van Praagh, Sunny Dawn Johnston, Sonia Choquette, Collette Baron Reid, Doreen Virtue, and Lisa Williams. You will find through her intuitive development she will lead each class and each session through her intuition. Her intention before a class or a session is that each student/client receive exactly what is needed that day. She then receives guidance through her gifts as to what to do for them.
As a graduate of Feel Your Best Yoga Teacher training
school, she carries the same philosophy that Yoga is for everyone, and not just for those who are physically flexible and free of injury or medical conditions. She carries a strong background in safety, proper alignment, modifications and adjustments for people with various levels of needs or experience.
Her main styles, through FYB training is Iyengar, Viniyoga and Ashtanga.
Iyengar yoga was founded by BKS Iyengar. This type of yoga is slower paced and alignment focused, using props to both modify a pose and also to deepen it.
Viniyoga yoga was founded by Deskichar. This type is individualized,and therapeutic carrying a spiritual emphasis. It supports learning pranyama (breath) before asana (the pose).
Ashtanga Yoga was incorporated by K. Pattabhi Jois. This style was derived from the yoga sutras "8 limbs of yoga". It is usually very physical, and sequenced.
She also includes a variety of other styles such as Kundalini, Restorative Yoga and Yoga dance as taught by the HEMA program.
