My favorite place on Earth

Yoga has changed my life in so many possitive ways and FTHY Center has play a crucial part in my spiritual journey. The moment you walk in the door you feel the Shakti, love, the sense of community, a welcoming feeling, a feeling of belonging. Behnje and Rick are amazing and experienced teachers that practice what they teach and it shows in their dedication to these practices, their devotion, their interactions with others and their involvement and service in the community. Very honored to be part of this organization as a prenatal yoga teacher. FTHY is truly my favorite place on Earth.

Practice From a Place of Strength

I am a bendable, flexible person by nature. It is easy for me to "cheat" myself into almost any pose, and I have escaped correction at many studios because of this. A yoga practice designed only to open already unstable joints further opens me to injury. At From the Heart I work on principles that teach me to always move from a place of strength and stability, to use my yoga practice to cultivate inner strength.

Each class is like a mini workshop where students roadblocks are taken apart and put back together to help them achieve a break through. It is not until reaching the upper level classes that students will flow through a class, but when they do finally flow it will be an expression of strength and grace.

I study in Chicago and Grand Rapids and recently found that some of my favorite teachers in Chicago did their training at From the Heart.

Yoga for your heart and soul

What a wonderful community of amazing people. For me, it is the perfect balance of pushing yourself without competition, a work out while becoming more at peace. The instructors here have big, warm, welcoming, compassionate hearts and they care a great deal about your journey. They know that everyone's path is unique and they do all they can to support you in whatever goals you set for yourself. I've done yoga in a lot of places and I can honestly say that I've learned more about yoga and my own practice in a month at FTH than I did in years at other places. There is a fire in the hearts of everyone here and they just want to share it. I really can't say enough good things about it. Love this beautiful space and glorious people!!!
