I am THAT which is worthy, and completely open to receive, every single day, in every way, with every breath I take.
Synthesize. Integrate. Bloom…Hamsa!
Jennyoga is an open and supportive community committed to the study and celebration of yoga. We’d love to help you find the perfect yoga practice for your body, mind and spirit.
Yoga is a traditional physical and mental discipline that originated in India. The practice of yoga involves meditation (dhyana) and placing the body in a series of postures (asana) while controlling the breath to best oxygenate the body and harness energy (pranayama). The postures require balance, flexibility, strength, grace and breath control. There are many reasons people begin a yoga practice: to ease back pain, improve overall health, stress relief or deepen their spiritual practice.
There are many styles of yoga. Jennyoga has several types of classes ranging from classic to more contemporary formats. Fast…slow…strength-building, heat-building…deep stretching…beginner…advanced practitioner…we’ve got something for EVERYbody.
One of our primary (and favorite!) styles of yoga is Vinyasa Flow. Vinyasa Flow is characterized by a sequence of postures linked together. The student flows from one posture to another without stopping in between, coordinating each breath—inhale and exhale with the movement.
Vinyasa Flow Yoga is the fusion of conscious breath with flowing asana. Through fluid movement and concentration, the yogi experiences the unification of body and mind; mind and heart; heart and spirit.
Central to most classes at Jennyoga is sound: the sounds of the breath and voice, and also music. Through music, rhythms and vibrations guide the student’s flow of fluid movement and promote body-consciousness – an often long-awaited shift.
People use music to mark the most joyous occasions of family and enhance the most celebrated events in life. Music always stirs an emotion. Some times mild ambivalence, other times poignant feelings. We believe that your highest potential can be cultivated through these experiences. By allowing the vibrations to help release trapped energy stored in the body, often held as old belief patterns, you can make space for the powerful transformation found in a consistent Yoga practice.
“Everything is music.”
