Ayurvedic practitioners are known for their knowledge of herbs. But they don't feel comfortable prescribing herbal remedies to pregnant or breastfeeding patients. So you'd think the first question they'd ask a female patient would be, "Are you pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning on becoming pregnant"? For my particular ailment, I was basically prescribed sesame oil in my nose and relaxation because they didn't know what else to do w/ a breastfeeding patient.

When I requested to know what they would've prescribed for my condition so that I might try it when I'm done breastfeeding, they said that my body chemistry may have changed by then. The nose oil didn't help. I already had an idea of what my dosha profile is based on my own observations. So, I feel like I really just got 3 sessions of psychotherapy (which is helpful, I'll admit. But not what I was there for.) I didn't go back for the 4th session which is included in the fee b/c I didn't see what I would get out of it and I was busy with a sick kid at home.
