“Your yoga is the real deal. I love the small, intimate setting of your beautiful studio.”
Metta Yoga is not a yoga studio — classes are held in my art-filled home surrounded by beautiful gardens near Fermi Lab in Batavia, Illinois. The peaceful room dedicated to yoga and meditation is a yoga shala in the purest sense because “shala” means “house” in Sanskrit. The atmosphere has been described as “medicinal.” This is the way yoga was traditionally taught. Yoga is not just an activity but an integral part of my life and students are invited to share the practice with a community of like-minded people, a true yoga sangha.
Yoga mats, blocks, straps, bolsters, and blankets are provided if you do not have your own. I prefer to keep the classes small so that you receive yoga teaching in the personal manner the way authentic yoga was meant to be taught. This is yoga that makes a difference.
