Savaka Yoga is a method of hatha yoga instruction developed by Phoebe Tsang, based on the principles of mindfulness meditation. Savaka is an ancient Pali word meaning "one who hears". Savaka Yoga emphasizes the practice of listing deeply - to our bodies, our minds, and ourselves - as we move toward stillness. By connecting with our breath and fully embodying each pose and the spaces in between, we access our inherent creativity and power to heal.
Savaka Yoga aims to create a safe and healthy community through the Meditation Circle – a free resource that encourages sharing and giving back. Strong, foundational yoga skills are taught as the basis for creative exploration. Classes take place in the spacious, well-lit art gallery at the Alliance Francaise Toronto, in the heart of the Annex.
Yoga and meditation instructor Phoebe Tsang has studied Ashtanga, Power Yoga, Anusara, Iyengar and Scaravelli yogas, and completed Yoga Alliance training at the highest 500-hour level. Relax, heal, strengthen and energize. Home of Classical Flow - a practice inspired by the spirit and structures of classical music.
