Uma's classes are simultaneously gentle, challenging, and therapeutic in nature. Students are encouraged to both test and respect their body's limits, and through the practice, you will naturally cultivate patience, willpower, strength, and flexibility. No experience is necessary, and all are welcome.
Uma has been teaching yoga and meditation since 2008 and offering Reiki since 2013. She has a Master's degree in Religious Studies with a concentration in South Asian spiritual traditions, has taught yoga and world religions as a faculty member at Palmer Trinity School, received Bodhisattva initiation from the Dalai Lama, 200 and 500 hr teaching certifications from the Sivananda lineage, and has spent intensive time studying Agama yoga. Her favorite things to teach are courses in chakras and subtle anatomy, the function and use of Sanskrit, and meditation.
