SUFFERING FROM CHRONIC LOW BACK & SHOULDER PAIN, AS WELL AS TMJ, SHE FOUND THAT THROUGH THE CONSISTENT PRACTICE OF YOGA HER SYMPTOMS DIMINISHED CONSIDERABLY & OVER TIME, EVENTUALLY DISAPPEARED. WANTING TO SHARE HER JOY & EXPERIENCE WITH OTHERS, SHE EMBARKED ON A JOURNEY OF HEALING & RESTORATION CULMINATING IN EARNING CERTIFICATIONS TO TEACH SKANDA,(Power Vinyasa) YOGAWORKS , (Alignment based using Yin, Iyengar, Hatha combo) & EARNED HER 500 HOUR CERTIFICATION IN GENTLE THERAPEUTICS YOGA.
IN ALL OF THESE STYLES, YOGA IS BOTH A TRANSFORMATIONAL & INSPIRATIONAL PRACTICE. MID-LIFE HAS TAUGHT ALISSA THAT WITH PRACTICE, ALL WILL COME & YOU DO NOT NEED TO HAVE A “FLEXY-BENDY” BODY IN ORDER TO BEGIN.
ALISSA GRADUATED FROM WASHINGTON UNIVERSITY IN ST. LOUIS MISSOURI, WITH A BA IN EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION & ART HISTORY. IN ADDITION, SHE RECEIVED HER MASTERS IN EARLY CHILDHOOD & SPECIAL EDUCATION FROM WASHINGTON UNIVERSITY. AS A LIFELONG STUDENT, SHE ALSO EARNED HER REIKI I & 2 CERTIFICATIONS.
